Lapmaster acquires Bates Technologies
Bates Technologies, Inc. was founded in 1985, offering a core product line of honing stones and tooling. In 2005, the company acquired the tooling and abrasive line of products from Micromatic, adding to the Bates legacy nearly 80 years of honing and bore finishing innovation. The Bates Technologies line of ProMatic® Production Hones are created for use in Rottler, Sunnen, CK, CU and SV machines to bring original equipment manufacturing to the remanufacturing industry.

Lapmaster 5.4 mtr Lapping Machine & Spherical Lapping / Polishing
Lapmaster produced its largest flat lapping machine at the customers’ site with a lapping surface diameter of 5.4 metres producing flatness far better than expected. During the same year the range of spherical polishing machines was expanded and many custom made machines were produced for a range of specialised applications.
Lapmaster Expand European Operations
Lapmaster open a sales office in Germany, to better service the growing demand throughout the European Union.

Lapmaster Acquires Barnes Bore Honing and Finishing
Since 1907, Barnes Bore Honing and Finishing Systems has been considered a world leader in developing innovative new technology and processes to help manufacturers improve product performance, quality and cost. The earliest Barnes honing machines were the first-ever to make honing a practical and efficient means of finishing automotive cylinder bores in a production environment. As production requirements increased, so too did Barnes' ability to meet the need for greater speed, accuracy and efficiency. The long history of innovation has today culminated in a new generation of stand-alone machines and complete turnkey systems that deliver improvements in bore accuracy, surface finish, productivity and efficiency that were unimaginable just a decade ago.

Lapmaster Expand into India and China
Lapmaster International India Pvt, Chennai, India and Lapmaster Shenyang Lapping, Polishing & Grinding Company Ltd, China was created, due to the increase in market growth from the far eastern continents. Both sites were formed as wholly owned subsidiaries of Lapmaster International UK Limited but are run with their respective management teams.

Lapmaster Management Buy-in
The Management of Lapmaster formed a Management Buy-in taking full control of both Lapmaster International LLC US and Lapmaster International UK Limited, operating as one company from two continents, servicing the lapping and polishing market on a worldwide basis.

Lapmaster Acquires Carlap International
This exciting new development enables Lapmaster International to widen it's portfolio with a range of quality budget machines whilst bringing Lapmaster's legendary International support and customer care to Carlap.
Carlap's well established name will continue with the additional technical, manufacturing and sales support from Lapmaster International.

Lapmaster Gain ISO 9001:2008
Lapmaster International Ltd operate a quality management system which complies with the requirements of ISO 9001:2008 for the provision of a lapping and polishing service. Updated 2009.
